Four Years Old -1999

Halloween Fun!

A little shy when big brother gets home.

"You liked the Christmas tree and seeing the lights on the houses. Picking out presents and wrapping them was fun.  Bur your favorite Christmas thing was all the candy.  You just glutted yourself on all things sweet."
"You've become an extremely picky eater.  You know how to write your name and you can count to 10.  You know some of the letters.  You love to look at books.  Your favorite thing to do, though, is play Nintendo.
You like primary usually now.  although your feelings have been a little tender since you changed classes at the beginning of the year.
You had fun on New Years throwing snap caps and confetti bombs and eating candy, of course.
Tomorrow morning you will be having surgery to close a small hole in the roof of your mouth and to revise your top lip a little.  I hope it won't hurt too much.  I love you, Troy!"

"Troy keeps life interesting.  He's so funny.  He's always putting his shoes on the wrong feet.  Usually when we tell him he just says "I don't care."
Happy 4th Birthday!
But a couple of days ago we were getting in the
car to go to church.  As Michelle sat down next to Troy she said, "Hey, you've got your shoes on the wrong feet, buddy!" He quickly crossed his legs and said, " Now they're not!"
"In the last couple of weeks he's learned to count to 100.  He can write his name and spell it out loud, and he knows several of his letters.  he can even do some very simple adding and subtracting.  He'll do well in school--if I can get him to go.  He's suddenly getting all teary eyed and sad when it's time to go to Primary again.  I don't know what's up with that.
Troy's New Pants

Last week when he was brushing his teeth he lifted up his lip and showed me his teeth where they are caved in.  He said, "Look, mom! That's where I had that thing when I was a baby where my lip wasn't closed!"  That's the first time he's said anything like that to me.  What a sweet kid.  A joy to have in our family."
