14 Years Old - 2009

May 19, 2009    My favorite Mother's Day present was from Troy.  I had dropped him and his friends off at the movies on the Friday before Mother's Day.  Then I was gone for awhile  when I got home there was a pretty crystal dish on the counter with a handwritten note "Happy Mother's Day from your almost favorite son, Troy."  I was very surprised.  It was so thoughtful of him to get me a gift. (believe me, with a family of boys it just doesn't happen that often)  He had gone to Dillard's after the movie and picked that out for me and bought it with his own money.  The dish is perfect for serving at parties.  In fact I used it on Mom's Day!  It was Troy's B-Day also.  14 years old!  (Mom's day and his birthday happening on the same day only happened two times in his life.  I treasure this crystal dish and one other that he gave to me at Christmas.  Such a good memory.)

13 years old - 2008

Troy and his buddies had a favorite tree they liked to climb at the park down the street from our house.  He even carved his initials in it.  The 2nd picture is with Gage. His friends told me about it after he died.

July 27, 2008   Troy went to Scout Camp the week of June 23 through the 28th.  he got his nose broken (roughousing with Jake Sohler) on the first night up there.  [He told his scout leaders to please not make him go to the doctor because he didn't want to go home early.  He loved Scout Camp. Turned out there was no one at the Clinic they found a couple of days later anyway.] So when he got back we had lots of doctor appointments and a little surgery to fix it.  He came through with flying colors.  His nose hardly bothered him - the meds he had to take made him so, so sick.

of him.  It means the world to me.  I cried when
I found it after he died.  I had forgotten all
about it.  But it is so precious to me.   

All geared up for Air Soft Wars.  Nothing says Merry Christmas like shooting your bros.

      

We took Travis and Troy to Disneyland and California Adventures.  Had so much fun!

Went to Huntington Beach one day while we were in Cali.  It was FREEZING.  But the boys had so much fun.

October 16, 2007  Troy is enjoying school and Young Men's.  He is a sweety and starved for affection.  He's always asking for hugs--which I'm happy to give.  (I figure that can't last for long).

Troy and a friend decided to light things up in his bedroom and take pictures. His big brother uploaded them with some other pics onto our computer where I stumbled across them.  BIG TROUBLE!!

Troy "It was mostly outside."

Sis "No, you taking pictures got you caught.  You must be very careful with such evidence.  Matt, I think that is a good strategy.
Mom "Troy, don't for any reason listen to your older sister.  She WILL lead you astray."
Sis "Oh boy, I didn't understand the full implications of mom getting facebook.  We'll have to be more careful from now on."
