13 years old - 2008

Troy and his buddies had a favorite tree they liked to climb at the park down the street from our house.  He even carved his initials in it.  The 2nd picture is with Gage. His friends told me about it after he died.

He didn't like that I was taking a picture of him.

July 27, 2008   Troy went to Scout Camp the week of June 23 through the 28th.  he got his nose broken (roughousing with Jake Sohler) on the first night up there.  [He told his scout leaders to please not make him go to the doctor because he didn't want to go home early.  He loved Scout Camp. Turned out there was no one at the Clinic they found a couple of days later anyway.] So when he got back we had lots of doctor appointments and a little surgery to fix it.  He came through with flying colors.  His nose hardly bothered him - the meds he had to take made him so, so sick.

At Christmas, Troy and I were sitting on the
Couch and I thought we'd make a video to send
to his brothers.  I'm so glad I have this video
of him.  It means the world to me.  I cried when
I found it after he died.  I had forgotten all
about it.  But it is so precious to me.
All geared up for Air Soft Wars.  Nothing says Merry Christmas like shooting your bros.

We took Travis and Troy to Disneyland and California Adventures.  Had so much fun!

Went to Huntington Beach one day while we were in Cali.  It was FREEZING.  But the boys had so much fun.

12 Years Old -2007

Troy won the grand prize at his orthodontist's swimming party.  A cool Sony Digital camera.

First Selfie with his prize!

Awesome picture of him after he finished the South Ogden Stake 5K

Balloon fight!
October 16, 2007  Troy is enjoying school and Young Men's.  He is a sweety and starved for affection.  He's always asking for hugs--which I'm happy to give.  (I figure that can't last for long).
Striking a GQ pose at the Christmas bowling bash.

Helping to finish his big brother's Eagle Project.
Playing on his snowboard in our backyard.
I love his giggle at the end of this video.
Troy and a friend decided to light things up in his bedroom and take pictures. His big brother uploaded them with some other pics onto our computer where I stumbled across them.  BIG TROUBLE!!
Here are a few of the funny comments on Troy's Facebook account after he posted this pic.
He captioned it "Why I got grounded."
Big Brother, Matt "Inside the house. Not very smart.  If you were my kid you would be lucky to get grounded."
Troy "It was mostly outside."
Big sis "Haha, I wouldn't even have done it inside.   I thought I taught you better.  Come on baby, light my fire!"
Troy "haha. That was funny.  Light my fire....boooooom"
Aunt Glenna "Troy, lighting the fire may have been why you got grounded, but taking pictures was why you got caught!!!"
Matt "Memo to self.  Don't leave Troy alone anywhere in my house."
Troy " I think Travis uploading the pictures on the computer got me caught."
Sis "No, you taking pictures got you caught.  You must be very careful with such evidence.  Matt, I think that is a good strategy.
Mom "Troy, don't for any reason listen to your older sister.  She WILL lead you astray."
Sis "Oh boy, I didn't understand the full implications of mom getting facebook.  We'll have to be more careful from now on."
Troy "I understood it instantly. Thanks."

11 Years Old - 2006

Notice Troy in the background playing with his nephew.  Troy could mesmerize every kid in the room.  He would walk into a room and the kids would fall into what we called the Troy Trance.  They would just watch him and laugh and smile at him.  Nothing else mattered while he was there.
The roof rats after a long day replacing our roof.

Another brother's wedding.

The bros.

And sis.

Dropping another brother off at the MTC.

We set up a zip line in the backyard.  Troy was so excited to try it!

Ten Years Old - 2005

Our family moved from Arizona to Utah in 2005.  It was an adjustment for Troy.  He was sad to leave his friends.   But there were also things he loved.  Our new house was Troy's grandma's house and he loved playing in the huge yard and the "hollows" wilderness.  He also loved the snow.

Troy liked this little lady bug.

Back to AZ one more time.

Who's got the biggest guns?

Halloween Nerd
Troy did not like all the work involved in our remodel of the house.  As he put it "I'm dying from doing all the work around here."

You're never too big to ask Santa for something for Christmas, right?

Best sledding ever.

Yet another sibling's wedding.
